DISPLAY OF VOTERS’ REGISTER: Voters Told to Check Their Data at Polling Units

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Enugu State has called on Nigerians to avail themselves of the on-going display of voters’ register in polling units to check their data.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Mr Emeka Ononamadu who made the call in an interview in Enugu, said the essence of the exercise was to ensure the credibility of the register.

“It is a moment we display what we have collated from citizens that offered themselves for the registration to the entire public so that people will scrutinize what they have given and challenge where possible, anyone they feel is incorrect. Some people may have died since 2011”.

 Mr Ononamadu also announced that permanent voter cards, PVC would be distributed at the centres during the period.

According to him, the display of the voters’ register is for those who registered from twenty eleven to the just concluded registration in the country.

The exercise which would last for one week commenced last Tuesday across the States of the federation.
