DAVE UMAHI HAS BEEN DECLARED WINNER OF EBONYI STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Governor David Umahi of the People’s Democratic Party as the winner of March 9th Gubernatorial Election in Ebonyi State.

Announcing the result at INEC Headquarters Abakaliki. the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Owerri, Professor Frank Chukwuemeka Eze said Governor Umahi polled three hundred and ninety three thousand, forty three votes to beat his closest rival and candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Sonni Ogbuoji who secured eighty one thousand seven hundred and three votes.

The Candidate of Social Democratic Party, Prince Chibueze Agbo polled one thousand one hundred and twenty nine votes to come third in the contest.

The result was declared amidst tight security and was witnessed by security chiefs, civil society organisations, foreign and local observers as well as party agents.
