Conference of APC Publicity Secretaries Supports Nkiru Onyejiocha Ambition for the Post of Speaker

The Conference of APC Publicity Secretaries in the South East has called for the inclusion of the zone in the core leadership positions of the country.
Briefing Newsmen in Enugu, the conference through its Coordinator and Anambra State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Chief Okelo Madukife urged members of the National Assembly to support the aspiration of the Member representing Isikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia Central, Mrs. Nkiru Onyejiocha for the Speaker of the House.
Chief Madukife described Mrs Onyejiocha as an experienced legislator who started politics from the grassroots as Local Government Chairman in Abia State and had served in the NASS for four terms.
Also speaking at the event, the Enugu State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mrs. Kate Offor said the committee after critical analysis of the achievements of APC legislators in the South East resolved to throw its weight behind Mrs. Onyejiocha due to her antecedents and for the interest of gender balance, equity and fair play.
According to Mrs. Offor, Mrs. Onyejiocha, a lawyer had been the Chairman, House Committee on Aviation for twelve years and a known legislator, who is articulate and experienced.
The Abia State Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr. Benedeth Godson and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Mr. Chuka Nwoba believed that if the woman was given the chance as speaker of the House, she would support President Mohammadu Buhari’s Change Agenda for the country, ensure discipline and progress in the National Assembly.
They stressed that it was time women were recognized and given their rightful position in running the country.
