TRUCK CRUSHES MOTORCYCLIST & PASSENGER TO DEATH IN EBONYI

A commercial motorcyclist and his passenger have been crushed to death by a truck at Akpuoha axis of Abakaliki-Afikpo Federal Highway.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Loveth Oda, told Radio Nigeria that the commercial motorcyclist was carrying two passengers when they collided with the truck.

She noted that the incident would have claimed more lives as angry youths in the area almost lynched the driver of the truck and his passenger if not for the quick intervention of soldiers on duty at a quarry company premises.

The PPRO said the angry youths also attempted to burn the truck, a situation that briefly affected vehicular traffic on the axis.

According to Mrs. Oda, the deceased have been deposited in a mortuary while the driver and his female passenger are receiving treatment in a hospital.
