ROBBERS KILL DRIVER & POLICEMAN IN UMUAHIA

Two persons have lost their lives following am armed robbery attack that occured at the Mission Hill area in Umuahia.
Confirming the incident to Radio Nigeria in a telephone chat, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abia State Command, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, said a gang of armed robbers attacked a vehicle conveying a Chinese expatriate and killed his driver and the Police man escorting them.
According to the PPRO, the robbers trailed their victims from a bank they went to and dispossessed them of the money after which they shot sparodically into the air to scare away people as they escaped.
He added that the Police had already embarked on a manhunt to track down the fleeing criminals.
