PROF NEBO, UNIVERSITY STUDENTS DEMAND IMPROVED ACADEMIC SYSTEM

The former Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo, wants youths to acquire functional and transformational education as a way of driving productive nation.

Professor Nebo stated this during the celebration of the 2019 International Youth Day organised by the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu Campus.

Professor Nebo, who was also a former Vice Chancellor of the University, urged the youth to live above board, noting that the societal value system must be changed to meet the needs of the day.

Also the Associate Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Elochukwu Moka, noted that the university had been marking the International Youth Day as way of shaping a productive future of the Nigerian youths.

Some of the youths, who spoke with Radio Nigeria, demanded for improvement in education system to make the country’s education independent and vocation-based instead of theoretical and certificate-based.

The theme of the 2019 International Youth Day was “Transforming Education”

The event, which was attended by various scholars in various youth development areas, featured quiz competition by some students.
