POLICE TO ENFORCE BAN ON UNAUTHORIZED NUMBER PLATE & TINTED GLASS IN ANAMBRA

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Mr. Echeng Echeng, has charged vehicle owners in Anambra State and those either coming in or leaving the shores of the state to ensure that their vehicles have up-to-date number plates.

He says the decision was taken by the Inspector General of Police to monitor and check crime and other insecurity in the state as it concerns the November 6th, 2021 gubernatorial election.

In a statement made available by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Princess Nkiruka Nwode, the Commissioner maintains that any vehicle that plies without number plate nor up-to-date number plate will be impounded and the law invoked upon the defaulter.

He reiterates the readiness of the Police to provide crime free and safe environment during and after the election.

The statement reminds motorists (public and private users alike) in Anambra State that the Inspector General of Police’s ban of vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses will be enforced in the State so as to check movements of people and goods in and out of the state.

According to the statement, the police need the corporation of the members of the public to protect their lives and property “even as we urge that suspicious movement or credible information be given through emergency GSM number: 08060463492 or 0un 9032506317.”
