“OPERATION PUFF ADDAR” IN EBONYI STATE

The Nigeria Police has launched “Operation Puff Addar” to contain the activities of suspected criminals through community engagement and intelligence gathering in Ebonyi State.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Six, Mr. Musa Kimo announced this during a courtesy call on Governor David Umahi at Government House Abakaliki.

Mr. Kimo explained that the Inspector General of Police was worried over the spate of killings and attacks on innocent Nigerians in the State and had approved the operation to fish out the perpetrators.

Governor David Umahi commended the Inspector General of Police for being responsive to security challenges facing the State but called for some weeks of grace to enable his administration to address some communal crisis aiding such killings.

He appealed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Six, to intervene in the boundary dispute between Ebonyi and Cross River States by bringing officials of the two governments to a round table for discussion.
