Christians are reminded of the need to rededicate their lives to the service of God and humanity to inherit the kingdom of heaven.
The Rector Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri, the Reverend Father Uzochukwu Njoku, gave the admonition at the requiem mass for Pa Jude Ikezonu Okere at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Parish Nguru Umuaro in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.
Pa Jude Okere, who was laid to rest in his country house Eziama Nguru, was the father of the Zonal Director Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Enugu, Mr. Ike Okere.
In a sermon, which was drawn from the holy book of wisdom, the Reverend Father Njoku, who eulogized the virtues of the deceased, said the reward for righteousness was eternal live.
The Director of investments Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Abuja, Mr. Mike Yawe, who spoke on behalf of FRCN management, challenged the bereaved family to uphold the legacies of their father, whom he said was an embodiment of peace.
The first son of the deceased and Zonal Director FRCN South East, Mr. Ike Okere, said his father was an accomplished gentleman who never compromised discipline.
Also the first daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Carol Ekeh, described the father as a caring and loving man, noting that his death had created a vacuum in her life.
The burial of late Pa Jude Ikezonu Okere, who died barely two weeks after his ninetieth birthday, was well attended by the frcn family and close associates of the Okere family.
