The Federal Ministry of Education,has urged pupils and students who were yet to resume school due to fear of contracting covid-19 to resume school,as government has adopted measures to enusure their safety.
The Deputy Director,Basic Division, Federal Ministry of Education,Mrs Josephine Chimezie- Nwaobiara stated this in Enugu, during the meeting for the implementation of Back to School campaign.
Mrs Chimezie-Nwaobiara said the meeting was organized by the Federal and Enugu State goverments with support from unicef,as collaboration to the Global Partnership on Education and aims to come up with key messages and jingles on covid-19.
The Chairman,Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board, ENSUBEB,Mr Ikeje Asogwa, noted that the board had provided wash stands in all the public schools in the state.
Mr Asogwa who was represented by the secretary of the board, Dr Hyginus Eze,explained that covid-19 protocols were being observed in schools.
Also, permanent member one, ENSUBEB,Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike, said the board has upgraded public schools in the state to conform to safety requirement and standard.
Speaking on the back to school campaign ,the Head, Department of Planning,Research and Statistics, Enugu State Ministry of Education,Mr Chris Edenwatu, expressed hope that the campaign would be of great success.
Mr Edenwatu who represented the Commissioner for Education,called for the sustenance of covid-19 protocols in schools.
