REPORTER: CHINAZO ILECHUKWU

A group under the aegis of Imo Coalition for True Democracy, Peace and Unity has appealed to Governor Hope Uzodimma to remain focused in his effort at addressing infrastructural deficit in the state.

Speaking during a solidarity rally organised by the group in Owerri, a member of the coalition, Mr. Uzoma Eke, said they were impressed by the achievements recorded by the state government within the last two years.

He noted that despite the insecurity contrived by some disgruntled elements in the state, the government had continued to impact positively on the lives of the people.

Mr. Uzoma pointed out that the coalition, which comprised traders, transporters, public servants and youth associations in Imo State was delighted with the manner at which Governor Uzodimma had fought banditry and other forms of criminality in the state.

According to Mr. Uzoma, the coalition is solidly behind the government, noting that it will collaborate with security agencies and the Governor to rid the state of all forms of terrorism.

Another member of the group and Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mr. Sam Ude, extolled the giant strides recorded in road infrastructure by the state government.

He stressed that commuters no longer experienced difficulty plying Ekemelee axis of Ikeduru, Owerri-Orlu road, Owerri-Okigwe road, Dig Tiger and Relief Market roads due to massive reconstruction executed by the state government.

He warned desperate politicians, who had vowed to destabilize the state, to desist or face the wrath of the youths.

The people, who were in their numbers, matched on major streets in Owerri, the Imo state capital, carrying banners with various inscriptions in solidarity with the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
