ANAMBRA STATE GOVT ORDERS POLICE TO ARREST YOUTHS INVADING LANDS WITH GOVT TITLES
REPORTER: BEN ILECHUKWU
Anambra State Government has expressed its displeasure over frequent cases of youths incursions into people’s lands with appropriate government titles.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for information, Mr. Paul Nwosu, at the end of the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Awka.
According to the statement, government has directed relevant law enforcement agencies to immediately arrest such errant youths and prosecute them according to the law.
The statement also notes that effort to rid roads and streets’ corners of refuse has begun to yield some obvious results.
Also, the statement indicates that Government had urged households and the general public to desist from indiscriminate refuse disposal.
it also noted that Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) was gradually transiting to door-to-door refuse collection and warned that anybody found disposing refuse at unauthorized locations would be promptly sanctioned.
