GOV UMAHI DISSOLVES EXCO

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has dissolved the state Executive Council with eighty-three members to go in the first batch of the exercise.

Briefing journalists at the end of the State Executive Council meeting at Government House Abakaliki, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kenneth Ugballa, explained that the dissolution was to strengthen performance in governance and appraise MDAs.

He said of one hundred and six Executive Council members, the services of twenty-three were retained but would be withdrawn when it pleased the Governor.

Dr. Ugbala mentioned the names of those whose services were retained by the Governor.

They to include himself (the SSG) and the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Mr. Cletus Ofoke.

Meanwhile, the Head of Service, Dr. Chamberlain Nwele announced that the Council approved the recruitment of three thousand persons into the state civil service.
