GOV UMAHI OFFERS CATHOLIC PRIEST TWO APPOINTMENTS, GIVES FINANCIAL AID TO MARKET COLLAPSE VICTIMS

Ebonyi State Government has approved eighteen million naira as humanitarian aid for the relatives of victims and survivors of the Ekeaja Market building collapse in Uburu Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Uchenna Orji, announced this while briefing journalists at the end of the state Executive Council meeting.

He noted that the approval was to temporarily relieve the beneficiaries from pains, noting that an inquiry report into the unfortunate incident which occurred on May 13, 2022 was being awaited.

Mr. Orji said the state government also reconstituted Ebonyi State University Governing Council and constituted David Umahi Teaching Hospital Uburu Governing Board with the Reverend Father Abraham Nwali as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the two.

He added that approval was also given for the rehabilitation of Amusement Park Abakaliki while three hundred persons would receive leadership training.
