GOV SOLUDO PLEDGES TO SUPPORT POLICE OFFICERS’ WIVES

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated call for the promotion of made in Nigeria products. The Governor made the call when the National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) and wife of the Inspector General of Police, Hajia Hajara Usman Alkali- Baba, paid  him a visit  at  Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

The Governor said that promoting made in  Nigeria products would help promote the economy of the country. Governor Soludo applauded the POWA boss and her entourage for the visit and assured them of continued support for the wellbeing of members and activities, especially in the state.

The Governor expressed happiness that the visit would enlighten the POWA women and ensure that they remained abreast with happenings in the society. He expressed the hope that the activities of the group would go a long way in alleviating the living conditions of Nigerian women, especially  widows.

The President of POWA and wife of the IGP, Hajara Usman Alkali- Baba, explained that they made the visit as a wakeup call to Anambra State POWA, stressing that they came to appreciate the efforts of their husbands to end all hindrances to the growth and development of the country.

According to Mrs. Alkali-Baba, they sought to improve the welfare  of the wives of officers of the Nigeria Police Force. She appealed for provision of more facilities in police schools and construction of skill acquisition centres, saying that it would help to boost the morale of officers and their wives. The POWA President stressed that welfare of the members was top priority of her leadership.
