Officers and men of the Nigeria Police Abia State command have been charged to feel free in performing their legitimate duties as government is ready to assist them.

The Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Adamu gave the charge while addressing officers and men of the command in Umuahia.

He noted that Police officers who lost their lives during the EndSARS protest did not die in vain as they had been promoted posthumously while their family members were compensated.

Mr. Adamu urged them not to react negatively even at a slight provocation but to be civil always in the discharge of their civic responsibilities.

The Police boss assured his personnel that Federal Government had upgraded their salaries and that it would be finalized this December.

Earlier in a remark, the Commissioner of Police Abia State, Mrs. Janet Agbede while welcoming the IGP to the state said that his visit had re-awaken their dampened morale to get back to work after the EndSARS protest in the state.

Mrs. Agbede commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his support to the command towards achieving zero crime environment.

The Inspector General of Police later received some operational vehicles donated by Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

He also inaugurated Abubukar Mohamned Adamu Zone 9 new building complex and the Abia State Crime Prevention and Management system.
