REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki has again adjourned ruling on the bail application by a former Federal lawmaker in Ebonyi State, Mr. Linus Okorie to Tuesday November 22, 2022.

Chief Okorie who is the Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Ebonyi South, has been standing trial on five count charge after being arrested over allegations of threatening the life of Governor David Umahi and using his facility as a drug abuse hub.

Responding to his bail application, Counsel to Governor Umahi and State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Roy Umahi, sought the adjournment of the matter to enable him to study a fresh court process filed by the Counsel to Mr. Okorie.

Justice Fatun Rilman therefore adjourned the case till Tuesday next week for ruling on the bail application.

Recall that Ebubeagu Security Outfit of the Ebonyi State Government arrested Mr. Okorie on the Old Enugu Road Abakaliki and took him to their office at the old Government House, Abakaliki before being handed over to the police.
