CHIEF FIRE OFFICER SOLICITS CITIZENS’ COOPERATION IN ON-GOING FUMIGATION OF ENUGU STATE

The Chief Fire Officer, Enugu State Fire Service, Mr. Okwudili Ohaa, wants collaboration among various segments of the society for seamless decontamination of the State against coronavirus pandemic and other infectious diseases.

Mr. Ohaa stated this during the fumigation of Eke Agbani Market and some public places at Nkanu West Local Government Area, as part of the continuation of disinfection of the State against the infectious diseases.

The Fire Service boss, who explained that the fumigation was on-going in the three Senatorial Districts in the State, said over sixty percent of the area had been adequately fumigated.

He expressed the commitment of the government to the safety of the every citizen against COVID19, noting that people must cooperate with the government to achieve a healthy environment.

Addressing journalists at the headquarters of Nkanu West Local Government Area, the Chairman of the Council, Chief Nwabueze Nnamani, said that the government at that level had embarked on massive sensitisation of the people at the grassroots to observe basic preventive guidelines outlined by relevant authorities.

Chief Nnamani also said that the Council had distributed some protective kits, including hand sanitizers, face masks and buckets.

In their separate remarks, the Squadron Commander, three Squadron Mobile Force, Agbani Road, Mr. Dauda Iliya Ayuba, and the Chairman, Enugu Sports Club, Mr. Onyeka Onwe, commended the State government for taking proactive preventive measures to secure the State from the contagious infection.

They said they had also taken measures to contain the virus from spreading, and adhered to the various precautionary guidelines.

Our correspondent reports that others areas fumigated included, Community Primary School Umueze, Nkanu West Secretariate, shopes within Agbani, Three Squadron Mobile Force, Agbani Road, and some locations in the council area.
