FAMILY OF UCHECHI ATANSI DEMANDS JUSTICE OVER MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF HER DAUGHTER

The family of the lady whose decomposing body was found inside her apartment in Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State has called on the Federal and State Governments as well as security agents to unravel those behind the murder of their daughter, the Late Mrs Uchechi Atansi.

According to them, their daughter was not sick but was allegedly murdered right inside her husband’s room with no other person in sight apart from the deceased and her husband.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the younger brother of the deceased, Mr. Johnpaul Onyebuchi appealed to human rights activists and the Government to come to their aid and ensure that justice prevailed in the death of his sister.

He revealed that the late sister who had her traditional marriage ceremony on the 10th of January this year was two months pregnant before she was murdered in cold blood.

The brother narrated that he made several efforts to reach her on telephone having noticed that she did not come to work as both of them were staff members of a private security outfit in Awka.

Mr Onyebuchi noted that the deceased husband’s phone was switched off all through the three days his wife’s body was decomposing inside the room.

He however hinted that his sister had never complained of any form of manhandling by the husband nor their in-law complained of any misunderstanding to them and wondered what could had led to such death.

The husband, Mr Ikechukwu Atansi after his arrest told the police that unknown persons had injected substance that made him sleep for three days inside the same room where his wife’s corpse laid on the floor.

The deceased, Mrs Rita Atansi hailef from Achalla village, Enugu- Agidi in Njikoka Local Government Area and got married to Mr Ikechukwu Atansi from Isuaniocha in Awka North Local Government Area both in Anambra State.
