Stakeholders in Anambra State have described as unacceptable and condemnable the attacks on security personnel by unidentified gunmen in the area.

They have therefore called on citizens and security agencies to rise and protect communities across the country.

The increasing wave of crime in Nigeria in general and Anambra State in particular has raised a feeling of insecurity and also made residents to cry out to both Federal and state governments for urgent assistance to crub the ugly situation.

The Chairman, Civil Society Network, Prince Chris Azor, explained that within one week, the state had witnessed curious attacks targeted at security personnel by unknown gunmen.

Prince Azor called on Governor Willie Obiano to deploy his usual tact to bring the menace under control and return the state to its known peace and harmony.

A journalist, Comrade Jude Atupulazi, emphasized that intelligence was the soul of security and urged security agents to fish out those unidentified gunmen.

Speaking on the role of vigilance service in combating the menace of attacks on security officers, Comrade Atupulazi explained that traditional rulers and stakeholders have a role to play, noting that those perpetrating the crimes live within the communities.

A Public Affairs analyst Dr. Dennis Ekemezie, said one of the implications of attacks on security agents on national security was that foreign investors would no longer come into the country to carry out businesses.
