ANAMBRA CP ORDERS TACTICAL COMMANDERS TO END RISING INSECURITY

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Tony Olofu, has expressed concern about the spate of security breaches that have taken place within the State in recent time.

To this end, he has  ordered tactical Commanders of the Command to immediately put an end to the breaches.

He gave the order when he led other senior police officers to on-the-spot assessment of the crime scenes.

The Commissioner of Police while bemoaning the unfortunate loss of lives and valuables due to the senseless acts, sued for calm, saying the Command was collaborating with other security agencies in the State to decisively deal with the perpetrators.

In a statement made available to Radio Nigeria by the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra state, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Commissioner implored members of the public, particularly residents of the state, to continue to partner the Police on security with a view to containing the  atrocious acts.

The statement stressed that the Command was more than ever determined to flush out the undesirable elements and make the entire state safer for law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses.

A team of police operatives attached to Aguata Area Command at about 2pm of 28/09/2021 while on routine patrol duty on Ezinifite/Igboukwu Rroad, was attacked by hoodlums riding in two unmarked Sienna vehicle and a Toyota Hummer bus.

The hoodlums set the patrol vehicle ablaze and fled the scene.

No life was lost and normalcy was restored in the area.

Similarly, there was a gun attack on a man at about 5pm on Oko Road.

The hoodlums set the vehicle of the victim ablaze, leaving him with a bullet wound before escaping.

The victim was rescued and taken to hospital where he is responding to treatment.
