AIG ZONE 13 TASKS ENUGU & ANAMBRA STATES COMMANDS ON YULETIDE SECURITY

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13, Ukpo, Umar Muri has directed the Commissioners of Police in Anambra and Enugu State Commands to put in place a robust crime prevention strategies in collaboration with sister security agencies during and after the yuletide.

This includes visibility policing, Joint Stop and Search Operations.

He also directs them to carryout constant raids on criminal hideouts in order to ensure adequate security and ease traffic congestion in the Zone.

In a statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Mathew Johnson, the AIG assured residents of Anambra and Enugu States that the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year celebrations, would be conducted peacefully.

It enjoined members of the public to refrain from unauthorized use of sirens, tinted glasses, fireworks (knockouts) and covering of vehicles number plates.

According to the statement, Mr. Muri rejoices with residents of the Zone as they join Christendom in celebrating Christmas and implores them to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by propagating Peace, demonstrating love and promoting harmonious coexistence amongst fellow citizens irrespective of religious or political affiliations.

The statement enjoined members of the public to report any suspicious persons or movements to the nearest Police Stations or through the Zonal Emergency number: 08060463494 for prompt response.
