The Commandant Nigera Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Abia State Command, Mr. Ayinla Olowo, has assured residents of the state of adequate security of lives and property before, during and after the Christmas and New year celebrations.
Commandant Ayinla made this known to journalists shortly after a crucial meeting with Heads of Department, Area Commanders and Divisional Officers of the corps in Umuahia.
He noted that the action was in strict compliance with the directives of the Commandant General of the corps, Mr. Ahmed Audi, that property and lives of residents and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure of government be protected.
Mr. Ayinla explained that the corps had increased its patrol in the three Senatorial Zones of the State while deployments had also been strategically made and surveillance intensified in and around already identified black spots and key locations, including event Centers, Worship Centers, Markets, Shopping Malls and eateries
He charged the officers to adopt international best practices in the discharge of their assigned duties, adding that any act of unprofessional conduct would not be condoned.
