ABIA STATE GOVT TO REMODEL OVER 200 PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says his administration will continue to give adequate priority to the educational sector.

Governor Otti stated during the monthly media chat with newsmen at Government House Umuahia.

The Governor noted that his administration had embarked on retrofitting and remodeling of over 200 primary schools and secondary schools in the state.

He pointed out that highly experienced and dedicated teachers would soon be employed in all the government schools in the state to help revive the standard of education.

Governor Otti reiterated his administration’s commitment towards ensuring that workers under the state employ received their salaries before the end of every month.

The Governor explained that the issue of wage award and increase in workers’ salaries were being looked into by government.

He also said that government was determined to resolve the llingering issues of pensions owed to pensioners in the state.

Governor Otti urged the people to always ensure they keep their environments clean by dumping their refuse at only approved dumps.

He stated that waste bins would soon be provided by government at various strategic locations for proper disposal of refuse in the area.
