46 YEAR OLD MAN IN POLICE NET FOR CHILD DIFILEMENT
A Forty Six year old man is now cooling off in police station after allegedly defiling two under aged girls at Nkwelle village, in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. The suspect Charles Igwedibia a.k.a, Alagbon who hails from Dosogu village , Awkuzu was apprehended on Thursday following an intelligence report provided to police detectives attached to Oyi Division.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr Haruna Muhammed in a statement, disclosed that the suspect had series of unlawful carnal knowledge of a twelve year old girl at Nkwelle village between June and July this year. He said that preliminary investigation also revealed that same suspect defiled another twelve year old girl in the area within same period.
He explained that the two victims were taken to Chira hospital, Awkuzu where a medical doctor confirmed laceration of their hymens. He said that the case was under investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
The Police image maker also noted that one Dubem Okeke and Okechukwu Okafor from Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area were arrested for killing twenty four year old Chinedu Okoye of Umuru village Ogidi due to misunderstanding over a girlfriend.
According to him, the suspects stormed the house of the girl, Kamsisochukwu Ifeanyichukwu dragged the victim out and shot him with a gun and was later rushed to Twinkle hospital Ogidi where he was certified dead by a medical doctor. Mr Haruna Muhammed said the corpse had been deposited at a morgue for autopsy while the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
The PPRO added that the police yesterday in conjunction with vigilante group in Abatete apprehended two armed robbery suspects Ifeoma Ugebge and Ifeanyi Chinweze aged nineteen years, both from Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area who were said to have been terrorising the area.
He announced that one cut to size single barrel gun loaded with a cartridge was recovered from the suspects.
