20 PERSONS CONTRACT CHOLERA IN EBONYI, COMMISSIONER DENIES DEATH

Ebonyi State Government says it has recorded Cholera outbreaks with about 20 persons so far affected in Akpoha in Afikpo North Local Government Area and Ntezi in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Daniel Umezuruike, announced m this while reacting to an alleged death of nine persons due to Cholera outbreaks in Akpoha.

He described the report as untrue, noting that a team of health experts from the Ministry had been sent to the affected communities while no death was recorded.

According to the Health Commissioner, of 20 persons affected by the outbreaks, some have been treated and recovered while others are still receiving medical attention.

Dr. Umuzurike called on the residents of the state to maintain high level of personal hygiene and wash their hands and edible fruits and vegetables thoroughly before consuming them.
