ENUGU INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR KICKS OFF ON 31ST MARCH.

trade fair3Arrangements for a successful hosting of the twenty-eighth Enugu International Trade Fair have commenced.

The President, Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA, the Reverend Ugo Chime made this known during a press briefing held at the Council Chambers in Enugu.

The Reverend Chime announced that the ten-day fair would commence on Friday March 31, 2017.

‘’The 28th Enugu International Trade Fair has been scheduled to hold from Friday 31st March to Monday 10th April, 2017 at the Permanent Trade Fair Complex, Enugu Onitsha Expressway.’’

The ECCIMA President noted that the agricultural sector would continue to receive attention during fairs as it remained a critical sector in the nation’s diversification efforts.

He pointed out that adequate logistics and security measures had been put in place to ensure a smooth fair.

‘’We have equally put in place measures to ensure stable and quality supply of electricity and water during the fair. We shall soon commence the overhaul and maintenance of the two standby generating sets in the complex in the event of public power failure.’’

In an interview, the Director General, Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr. Emeka Okereke stated that over fifty corporate organizations had already registered to participate in the fair.

‘’Some have paid, but these fifty have made commitments of their participation. They have been registered, their word and commitment is like they are almost in the fair.’’

Mr. Okereke expressed satisfaction with the level of enthusiasm shown by intending participants in spite of the present economic challenges in the country.

The theme of the fair is “Promoting Nigeria’s Industrial Sector and Small and Medium Enterprises for Inclusive and Robust Economy”.
