GOV. UMAHI WANTS INEC AND SECURITY AGENCIES TO SIGN AN UNDERTAKING TO BE IMPARTIAL IN 2019 ELECTIONS.

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and Security Agencies to sign an undertaking to be fair in the conduct of the forth coming general election.

Chief Umahi made the call while signing a Peace Accord for a violent free Gubernatorial Election at Government House Abakaliki.

He said though signing of the Peace Agreement had been on at the  National and State levels, peace could only be guaranteed in the country when the Independent National Electoral Commission and Security Agencies were fair to all political parties during the polls.

Governor Umahi reiterated the resolve of the people and Government of Ebonyi State to resist rigging in any guise stressing that the will of the people must count.

The Chairperson, Interparty Advisory Committee in the State, Mrs Jennifer Adibe explained that the Peace Accord had been signed by other gubernatorial candidates last year and commended Governor Umahi for his commitment towards peaceful conduct of the Election.

The signing of the Peace Accord was witnessed by Security Chiefs, Traditional Rulers, Town Union Presidents and some government functionaries in the State.
