GOV. IHEDIOHA SIGNS THREE BILLS INTO LAW

Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State has signed three bills into law.

They are Imo State Sports Commission Establishment Law, Power and Rural Electrification Law and Market Development Authority Law.

Performing the ceremony in Owerri, Governor Emeka Ihedioha said the laws would help to address the challenge of power supply in the rural areas and develop markets across the State.

Governor Ihedioha explained that the law establishing Sports Commission had taken sports administration away from bottlenecks experienced in the ministry which had hindered the development of the sector.

The Speaker Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Collins Chiji said the house had passed six bills within the last two months of its inauguration.

He commended the Governor for his interest in sports noting that the proposed construction of stadia across the Local Government Areas of the State would help to discover hidden talents and take sports to a greater height.

The ceremony was witnessed by principal officers of the State House of Assembly.
