THREE SUSPECTED MANUFACTURERS OF ADULTERATED TRANSMISSION FLUID IN NSCDC NET

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Imo State Command has paraded three suspects for their alleged involvement in the manufacturing of adulterated Automatic Transmission Fluid and grease.
The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Elisha Danjuma, said the suspects were arrested based on a reliable tip off.
Parading the suspects at their make shift industry at the industrial cluster phase one Naze, Owerri North Local Governmet Area, the NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Danjuma, decried the harm such nefarious activities could cause the society.
He said not only would it damage vehicles, it could lead to accidents and loss of lives.
Mr. Danjuma noted that the suspects would be prosecuted and made to serve the term stipulated by the law if found guilty.
He called on those involved in such illegal activities to desist from such act or face the wrath of the law when caught.
However, one of the suspects, thirty-one year old Onyedikachi Nnachi from Ebonyi State, denied the allegation, claiming that he is a certified trained producer of automobile oil.
Mr. Nnachi who noted that he started the business since 2014 said he sold his finished products to marketers in Bayelsa and Abia to be resold to tricycle riders.
Another suspect, forty-four year old Daniel Eze from Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA of Imo State, who joined the business in October 2020 said he sought a source of livelihood.
Mr. Eze said he was trained by an entrepreneur in Lagos State and he sold his end products to unsuspecting customers in Abia State.
The suspects disclosed that some of their raw materials included base oil and diesel.
