Reporter : AMECHI ODO
Ebonyi State Government is to embark on further reconstruction of Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway to make it a four carriage way from Onuebonyi in the capital city of Abakaliki to Nkalagu in Ishielu Local Government Area.
The State Commissioner for Capital City Development, Mr. Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, announced this while interacting with journalists in Abakaliki.
Mr. Nwaebonyi noted that the state government had directed property owners along the affected expressway to give one hundred feet from the gutters on both sides of already existing dual carriage way for the commencement of the project.
Mr. Nwaebonyi further said the state government had given property owners at major roads and streets in Abakaliki fourteen days within which to renovate their buildings as most of them were old and defacing the aesthetics of the city.
Mr. Nwaebonyi said plans had been concluded for the relocation of all motor parks to a central park opposite International Market Abakaliki, emphasising that the Ministry would not hesitate to enforce the directives.
