POLICE ARREST WOMAN FOR STEALING NEIGHBOUR’S BABY IN ANAMBRA

A 29 year old woman is now in police net for allegedly stealing a baby girl at Nwawulu Street, Okpoko, near Onitsha, Anambra State.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Anambra State Command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, says that the suspect hails from Isinkwo Abaomege in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to the statement, the suspect is a neighbour to the parent of the 3 year old child.
The statement says the suspect initially denied any knowledge of the whereabouts of the little girl.
However, it says upon interrogation, she confessed to stealing the child with the intention of selling her.
Meanwhile, the statement indicates that the child has been recovered from the suspect and and handed over to the parents.
It adds that investigation is ongoing on the matter.
