PG OHANEZE NDIGBO, IWUANYANWU, IS DEAD

The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is dead.

A statement signed on behalf of the family by one of his children, Mr. Jide Iwuanyanwu, explained that his 82-year-old father passed on Thursday during a brief illness.

Chief Iwuanyanwu, who hailed from Atta in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, is survived by his wife, Princess Frances Iwuanyanwu; children and great grandchildren among whom is Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, the Managing Director Champion Group of Newspapers.

The statement further stated that the funeral arrangement of the Igbo leader would be announced after consultations by the family.

Chief Iwuanyanwu known as “Ahaejiagamba” is an elder statesman, who made exploits in engineering, politics and the media.

Until his death, he was vocal in championing the course of Ndigbo and release of the leader of the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
