MURDER CHARGE: DRAMA AS POPULAR EBONYI LAWYER RESISTS ARRAIGNMENT

A suspect identified as Sunday Ununu has disrupted proceedings at Magistrate Court One in Ebonyi State High Court premises Abakaliki as he resisted arraignment by the police over an alleged murder.
Ununu who is a practicing Lawyer and the Principal of Big bird Chambers Abakaliki has been in police custody for about two weeks now after a bullet he allegedly fired from a pistol in his possession killed a 36-year-old orphan, identified as Nnamdi Nwite at Izzi Unuphu Community.
Radio Nigeria observed that shortly after being docked by the police, the suspect, who has power of attorney for land in most part of Izzi Clan, came out protesting that the charges against him were not properly entered.
The drama, which lasted for about two hours, disrupted court proceedings in other magistrate courts within the Premises.
At the end of the drama, Ununu was taken out of the court in a branded black police operational vehicle to the police headquarters by armed policemen who brought him to the court while the Magistrate court one could not sit on the matter.
