NSCDC PARADES SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER; FIVE OIL VANDALS IN ABIA

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Abia State has arrested a middle aged man, Tochi Moses, for alleged involvement in kidnapping.

Parading the suspects and five others suspected oil vandalism in Umuahia, the Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Vincent Ogu, said the suspects was arrested at Mbutu Nta in Osisioma Local Government Area following a tip off.

He alleged that the suspects had received ransom many times from the families of kidnapped victims.

Mr. Ogu also said that it was during interrogation that the corps discovered that the suspects was also involved in pipeline vandalism.

The command equally paraded five more suspected oil vandals, among them is a middle aged woman, Ijeoma Onyema, from Isiala Mbano in Imo State.

According to the Commandant, the female suspect was arrested while trying to convey about one thousand, two hundred litres of suspected adulterated diesel (AGO), which were concealed in nylon bags and loaded in two passager cars at Umuikaa Junction on the Enugu-Portharcourt expressway.

In an interview, the suspected kidnapper, Tochi Moses, denied been involved in any kidnapping case.

However, the suspected female oil vandal, Ijeoma Onyema, admitted committing the offence, claiming it was a friend that led her into the act.

The Abia State NSCDC Commandant warned hoodlums to stay away from crimes, stating that the corps had declared total war against all forms of vandalism of petroleum products and other critical National Assets as well as infrastructure of government.
