NEW YEAR: ARCHBISHOP CHUKWUMA CANVASSES IMPROVED SECURITY

The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma, has called for improved security across the country, emphasizing that Nigeria needs at peace at this time to enjoy all round development.

According to Archbishop Chukwuma, the country cannot attain its full potential when citizens continue to live in great fear and anxiety.

In his New Year message, the Most Reverend Chukwuma, said, though last year was challenging, especially with cases of killings and kidnapping, he, however, urged Nigerians to be optimistic in the New Year.

The high priest said the year 2022 would be a blessed year if the citizens would make sacrifices and be selfless.

The Anglican Archbishop, called on the leadership of the country to be focused and think more about the poor and the less privileged, while ensuring it improved facilities at the health sector, and educational institutions.

He called on the government to prioritize the welfare of citizens while ensuring that salaries of workers were paid promptly, and ensure amicable resolution of misunderstanding with various labour unions to avoid plunging the country into another chapter of crisis and strike.

He prayed that the year 2022 would be better, a year of blessings, relationship, peace, and prosperity.
