MINOR CABINET RESHUFFLE IN EBONYI

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has approved a minor reshuffle of the State Executive Council with two Commissioners affected.

They are the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Dennis Ekumankama who has been moved to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry while the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Deacon ObinnaNwachukwu is now in charge of Ministry of Finance.

The Governor who announced this at the State Executive Council meeting at Government House Abakaliki also directed the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance, Dr. Ignatius Una  to move to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry while the Director of Accounts, Mr. Moses Agama take over as the Permanent Secretary, Finance Ministry.

“With this injection at least we can see that a lot of revival will happen and a lot of people in the Ministry of Finance and Accounts will not have to go to another Ministry. The budget office: we have removed the Director Budgeting because he is not a professional, we need (an) economist but even at that he would have been able to cope very well.”

Chief Umahi also appointed Mr. Albert Igwe as the new Solicitor General of the State as well as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice.

Speaking after their swearing in, the new appointees commended the Governor for finding them worthy to serve and promised to be diligent with their duties.
