MICHAEL OKPARA’S WIFE, ADAMMA PASSES ON

The wife of the former Premier of the old Eastern Region, Mrs. Adamma Okpara, has died at the age of 97. Mrs. Adanma Okpara was married to the late Dr. Micheal Iheonukara Okpara, who served as Premier of the old Eastern Region from 1959 to 1966.

In a statement, Abia State Governor Ikpeazu noted that Mrs. Okpara remained a model of excellent womanhood and described her as a fountain of knowledge from which most women drank freely.

The statement described late Mrs. Okpara as a community leader till her final days and thanked God that she lived a fulfilled life, served God and humanity. The statement urged the family to take pride in the solid legacies of their parents and be motivated to keep the flag of excellence in public service, hoisted by their parents, flying at full mast. It noted that the state government, would work closely with the family to ensure that she got a burial befitting of her legacies.
