LP WINS AWKA NORTH & SOUTH FED CONSTITUENCY IN ANAMBRA

The Candidate of Labour party for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Professor Lilian Orogbu, has been declared the winner of the Saturday National Assembly election.

Announcing the result of the election, the Returning Officer, Dr. Uche Nriagu, declared that the Labour Party candidate polled 34,713 votes to beat APGA candidate, Mr. Obi Nwankwor, who scored a total of 24,814 votes .

The PDP candidate, Chief Emeka Igwe, polled 12,850 votes to come third, YPP candidate, Kingsley Uyamadu, got 2,042 while the APC candidate The Candidate of Labour party for Awka North and South Federal Constituency,Professor Lilian Orogbu has been declared the winner of the Saturday National Assembly election .

Announcing the result of the election, there turning officer, Dr. Uche Nriagu, declared that the Labour Party candidate polled thirty four thousand seven hundred and thirteen votes ( 34713) to beat APGA candidate Mr Obi Nwankwor who scored a total of 24814 votes .

The PDP candidate, Chief Emeka Igwe , polled 12850 votes to come third, YPP Candidate, Kingsley Uyamadu got 2,042 while the APC candidate Comrade Maxwel Okoye scored 856.

In an interview, the member elect for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Professor Orogbu, pledged to offer quality representation to the constituents.

Professor Orogbu, however, urged INEC to put measures in place to address the challenges noticed during the election as many electorate were disenfranchised due to late arrival of materials.

Radio Nigeria observed that all the party agents in present signed and collected the result sheets for their candidates.
