LOBI STARS CRUISE INTO NPFL/ LA LIGA U-15 YOUTH LEAGUE QUARTERFINALS AS DAKKADA FC CRASH OUT

Lobi Stars booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 2021 NPFL/La liga Youth Championship at Nnamdi Azikiwe Enugu with a hard fought 2-1 victory against Enyimba FC of Aba.

Enyimba’s Darlington scored in the fifth minute to put his team ahead before Sesugh Tortyer equalised for Lobi Stars in the 22nd minute.

Moses Jhase buried the game for Lobi Stars as his 55 minute strike ensured the Makurdi based club progressed into the last 8 ahead of Dakkada FC who well held to a 1-1 draw by Kano Pillars in the first match of the day.

Suleiman Shehu put Pillars in front but Idongesit Effiong equalised for Dakkada FC as the game ended One- all.

Kano Pillars topped Group ‘B’ with 7 points with two wins, and a draw while Lobi Stars of Makurdi qualified with 4 points, a win and a draw.

Dakkada FC and Enyimba FC of Aba took third and fourth position in the group respectively.

In the last match of the day, Rivers United FC went home without a win in the competition as they lost their match 1-0 to Heartland

Chidera Chinekwurum scored the only goal of the match as the young Naze Millionaires solidified their hold on top of Group C with 9 points

The last group match of the tournament will be played on Friday as Kastina Utd will face Adamawa utd in the first match.

Plateau Utd will battle Warri Wolves FC in the second game while host Rangers FC of Enugu will be seeking for a win against MFM FC to progress to the last 8 in the last match of the day
