GUNMEN KILL POLICEMAN IN EBONYI
REPORTER: AMECHI ODO
Hoodlums in ash coloured Sienna minivan have shot dead a police operative during an attack at a checkpoint at Ishieke Junction Abakaliki.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Joshua Ukandu, noted that the hoodlums launched the attack at about 7:15 Thursday morning during which they set a patrol Hilux Van ablaze.
The PPRO emphasised that a tactical team was on the trail of the fleeing suspects while normalcy had been restored on the road.
The incident occurred barely one month after a similar early morning attack at a check point at Hill Top-Nwofe road Abakaliki left about five police operatives dead.
