GOV OBIANO COMMENDS SECURITY AGENCIES FOR DEFENCE OF PUBLIC FACILITIES

Anambra State Government has commended the galantary of security operatives who repelled attacks on some selected government facilities in Awka.

The public facilities attacked by some by the alleged unknown gunmen included lNEC head office and B Division police station all in the state capital.

Assessing the facilities to know the level of destruction, Governor Willie Obiano expressed appreciation to the security officials who stood their ground to repel the attack.

Governor Obiano, who expressed joy that no security personnel was killed during the gun battle, noted that some of the hoodlums were gunned down.

The Governor while saying that such braveness was needed by security operatives at all times, revealed that most of the gunshots that were heard in the night were by the police.

Governor Obiano, who explained that the perpetrators of the act were able to throw petrol explosives at the structures, said that not much was destroyed and promised to repair everything as soon as possible.

He called on the people to join hands with the government in ensuring that everlasting peace was achieved in the state.

The Governor also inspected the level of work at the International Conference Center and Awka City Stadium.
