FINALLY PETER MBA GRABS PDP ENUGU GUBER TICKET, FLOORS EDEOGA, OHAA

Mr. Peter Mba has secured the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to contest for the Enugu State Gubernatorial election in 2023.
Mr. Mba garnered 790 votes to defeat three other cntestants: Mr. Chijioke Edeoga, who polled 9 votes; Mr. Chinyeaka Ohaa, 3 while
Mr. Gilbert Chukwunta got one vote.
The Chairman of the PDP Enugu State Gubernatorial Primary Election, Senator Ambuno Zik Sunday, announced the result at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, venue of the exercise.
“With this, I, Senator Ambuno Zik Sunday, on behalf of the electoral committee for the Enugu Gubernatorial election do attest that Mr. Peter Mbah, having secured the highest number of votes in this primary election, is declared winner of this election and therefore will be the flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party come 2023,” he announced.
Few minutes before the commencement of the election, 8 aspirants out of the seventeen 17 gubernatorial contenders, stepped down for Mr. Peter Mba.
One of the aspirants, Senator Ike Ekweremadu had earlier in the morning, through his Media aide, announced that he was not participating in the poll.
Seven hundred and sixty-four accredited delegates out of the seven hundred and sixty-seven delegates across the state, cast their ballots in the exercise.
The election, which was peaceful, was monitored by INEC officials.
In an acceptance speech, the PDP Standard bearer in the 2023 election in the State, Mr. Peter Mba, said that the process that was witnessed represented the true essence of Nigeria’s democracy.
“In accepting to serve you as your flag bearer, the flag bearer of our great party in the governorship election of 2023, I want to promise you that I would serve you with humility and moderation.
“We are going to serve you openness and inclusiveness, we are going to serve you simplicity and frontriteness, we are going to sustain and build on the achievement of the current administration,” Mr. MBA pledged.
He thanked the delegates and aspirants who supported his aspiration.
