CRACK IN EBONYI APC AS NWIFURU & MBAM EMERGE GUBER CANDIDATES IN PARALLEL PRIMARIES

Two Governorship candidates, Chief Francis Nwifuru and Chief Elias Mbam have emerged in a parallel Governorship Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that took place at different locations in Ebonyi State.

Declaring the result of the primary that held at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki, the Chairman of the Electoral Panel, Professor Emmanuel Adebayo, announced that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Francis Nwifuru, polled 743 votes to emerge the winner.

His closest rival, Mrs. Rosemary Ofoke, garnered 63 votes while Senator Julius Ucha came third with 22 votes.

At another primary that took place inside his campaign office at Mile Fifty Abakaliki, the former Chairman Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission, Chief Elias Mbam, got 741 votes to beat his closest rivals.

The two factions conducted the elections with direct and indirect methods amidst tight security.
