EMBLEM APPEAL LAUNCH: ABIA GOVT PLEDGES SUPPORT TO NIGERIA LEGION

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State says his administration will continue to support the Nigerian Legion to enable the group live up to it’s mandate.

Governor Ikpeazu stated this in a message to the launch of the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem Appeal Fund in Umuahia.

Governor represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ude Okochukwu, noted that the aim of the Emblem Appeal Fund was to raise money to support the Nigerian Legion, the surviving members and families of the past war heroes who laid down their lives for the unity and peace of the country.

He commended the Nigerian Armed forces for their gallant efforts in the fight against insecurity that had continued to threaten the cooperate existence of the country.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Rose Urenta, encouraged the people to always show love and support to the families of the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price while defending the unity of the country.

The Chairman Nigerian Legion Abia State, Commander Ambrose Nnabugwu (Retd), while commending the Governor for his support to the legion, stressed the need for Nigerians to always embrace peace and shun violence for the country to move to greater height.
