The Chief Imam of the 82 Division Central Mosque, Nigerian Army, Colonel Isah Sadiq, has urged Nigerians to live in peace with their neighbours and promote mutual understanding, irrespective of their religious differences.

Colonel Sadiq, who gave this charge on Thursday, while conducting Islamic prayer to mark 2021 Eid-el-Fitr in Enugu, said that the country would not move forward without unity.

The Islamic cleric, while condemning tension and insecurity in various parts of the country, warned Nigerians against jeopardising the efforts of those that sacrificed their lives to keep the country united.

He urged the people not to take the unity and peace of the country for granted, but work hard to promote peace.

The Chief Imam reminded Muslim faithful that Prophet Muhammad taught them to live in peace with everyone, including their Christians brothers.

Colonel Sadiq enjoined the Muslim faithful to put into practice lessons and teachings learnt during Ramadan, which according to him would make them better Muslims.
