APC HOLDS PARALLEL CONGRESS IN ABIA, TWO CHAIRMEN EMERGE

Two chairmen have emerged from the parallel congresses conducted by the two factions of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State.
Declaring the result of one of the Congresses in Umuahia, the Chairman of the Abia State Congress Committee, Mr. Kolawole Babatunde, said that Mr. Harbor Enyinnaya secured a total of 1,260 (one thousand two hundred and sixty) votes to emerge winner as the state APC Chairman.
Similarly in another APC Congress conducted at the Umuahia Township Stadium, a member of the APC National Congress Committee reported to have been sent to monitor the Congress in Abia State, Mr. Aliyu Ugbana, declared Mr. Acho Obioma the newly elected state chairman of the party.
Mr. Obioma reportedly polled a 298 (two hundred and ninety-eight) votes to beat three other contestants.
Meanwhile, both congresses were very peaceful and observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
