ANAMBRA STATE GOVT BOWS TO PRESSURE, TO NEGOTIATE TAXES FOR TRANSPORTERS

The Anambra State Government has expressed readiness to engage the leaderships of the different transport unions in a round table discussion with the aim of proferring solutions to areas of their disagreements with government.

The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, announced this while addressing the members of tricycle, shuttle buses and united mini truck unions in the state over the lingering issues of the new digital tax system in the state at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square Awka.

He urged the union members to organize themselves and nominate persons that would represent their diverse interests.

The Deputy Governor informed the union members that the Professor Soludo led government had been sourcing money and seeking partnership with critical stakeholders for the development of the statement.

He reiterating the government resolve to hold town hall meetings at intervals as a means of evaluating the progress and performance of the present administration in the state.

He further urged residents of Anambra State to support the present administration by performing their civic responsibilities and pay their taxes.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi and the Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike among relevant government officials that were present in the meeting.
