ABOUT 50,000 PERSONS BENEFIT FROM CONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER IN EBONYI AS STATE GOVERNMENT PARDONS 246 COVID-19 PROTOCOL DEFAULTERS
Ebonyi State Government has pardoned over two hundred and forty-six persons convicted for flouting government policies and restrictions to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state.
Governor David Umahi announced this during a live broadcast on efforts by the state government to cushion the effect of the pandemic on the people of the state.
Chief Umahi said that the state government had received about two hundred and fifty million Naira from donors, emphasising that disbursement of the fund and distribution of palliatives had commenced.
Governor Umahi explained that names of about fifty thousand indigent people of the state had been uploaded to the data base of the Federal Government as beneficiaries of Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme.
He added that the state had recorded four new cases thereby bringing the number of recorded coronavirus cases in the state to thirteen while one had been discharged after testing negative.
