WIFE OF ABIA GOV DONATES RESETTLEMENT EQUIPMENT, CASH TO ABA CORRECTIONAL CENTER INMATES

The wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Priscillia Otti, has presented tailoring and hairdressing equipment worth millions of naira to the inmates of the Nigeria Correctional Center, Aba.

The beneficiaries are undergoing training in various skills acquisitions within the center.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Otti promised she would continue to support the Correctional Center in their efforts towards rehabilitating, reintegrating and reformating the inmates by providing them with skills and equipment in order to change their lives after serving their jail terms.

She noted that her office would partner the Correctional Center in the provision of some basic amenities of life for the inmates.

The wife of the Governor also said she would provide the Correctional Center with cash grant of one million naira as support towards the training of the inmates in skills acquisitions programmme.

Earlier, the Controller Nigeria Correctional Services, Abia State command, Mrs. Julie Anyanwu, thanked the wife of the Governor for visiting the facility and donating the equipment, stating they would go a long way in assisting the inmates.

Items provided to the inmates by the wife of the Governor included sewing machines, fashion design materials, hairdressing equipment and electric generating sets.
